It has been 6 days, and words still feel inadequate.
To my LGBTQA+ friends I want to say, I am sorry. I am sorry for the times I have been too afraid to stand up and declare you are a beloved child of God.
I am sad that a place of refuge and safety became a place of bloodshed and fear.
I am angry that I am a part of a denomination that continues to reject LGBTQA+ people as fully beloved.
